Home Care For Pain Management Between Chiropractic Treatments

You have now begun an important step to improving your health and wellness.  Chiropractic care reduces pain, increases range of motion, and gets you back to doing the things you love.  There are 3 things that you can do between visits to ensure that the healing process is maximized, and you give your body the necessary tools to reduce your pain.

1.      Use heat at least once per day.  Heat should be used no longer than 10 minutes at a time and should always be removed for at least an hour between applications.  Hot showers, microwave bean/rice bags, and heating pads are all great ways to bring bloodflow to the muscles and relax stiff and achey joints.

2.      Add Magnesium to your nightly routine. You can’t heal if you can’t sleep.  Muscle tightness and spasms keep you tossing and turning through the night. Magnesium is a natural muscle relaxant, decreases cortisol and helps the body to relax.  Magnesium is known to help with sleep, migraine headaches, jaw clenching and overall muscle relaxation

3.      Start your physical therapy exercises that were sent to your email/text message.  The exercises are the exact exercises for the first three weeks of any physical therapy program.  We have tailored the exercises to be efficient and effective. The exercises should only take 5-10 minutes per day.  The exercises are designed to get your body back to alignment and not overstressing the muscles.
